Mojang adds 5 new paintings in Minecraft for the first time in 10 years!
Mojang adds new paintings to Minecraft for first time in over a decade.
Let's take a look at all of the new Paintings, they are all already available in the latest snapshot!
Unpacked painting Minecraft
Let's start with the one that has generated the most excitement within the community because it is a pixelated rendition of a very significant picture. The original image, known as "pack.png", served as the iconic cover for Minecraft's default texture pack for many years.
Humble painting Minecraft
This 2x2 painting might be a bit creepy to hang on your wall, but that’s what makes it interesting. It shows two Villagers standing in front of a house and is a funny version of the famous "American Gothic" painting by Grant Wood. This isn’t the first time Minecraft has used a famous painting for inspiration, but it is the most obvious joke they’ve made so far.
Baroque painting Minecraft
This 2x2 painting clearly shows its Baroque influence, a style that was popular in the 17th and 18th centuries. Unlike many Baroque paintings that show historical scenes or people, this one features three simple items: a decorated pot, a cake, and a yellow flower.
Prairie Horse painting Minecraft
This narrow, vertical 1x2 painting is perfect for slim spaces in your home. It shows a adventurer riding their horse through the desert. This painting is also a playful take on the famous "The Cowboy" by Frederick Remington.
Meditative painting Minecraft
This is the smallest of the five paintings and it cleverly references both a famous artwork and Minecraft’s history. It looks like Salvador Dali’s "Meditative Rose," but with an important twist: the rose in this painting has a stem. This detail nods to the Rose flower that was once in Minecraft before being replaced by the Red Poppy.
